Since becoming a public institution in November 1995, and a part of     Florida International  University  in  July  2007,  The Wolfsonian has received      numerous and substantial gifts that have augmented its permanent collection. Likewise, the museum's rare books and special collections library has been the recipient of significant generosity. The reference collection  has benefited greatly from donations of contemporary works as well as complimentary copies. In addition, the library has been fortunate to have been given many important materials from the museum’s collecting period, 1851-1945. These WebPages are intended to highlight some of the rare materials the library has been fortunate to receive as donations and to  serve as an acknowledgement of our gratitude to those donors who have kept the library’s collecting interests ever in mind.
